The topic of this collaboration is Amphibious Architecture - a research in the context of wetlands situated in both countries.
In the first semester, the projects was situated in Spain, and in the second semester, the site is in Thailand.

Site Research: Water scapes and human activity Ana Olalquiaga & Alejandro Dominguez
The first analysis compares and brings together the different waterscapes visited in Surat Thani. It looks into the restrictions that each location imposes on human activity especially due to the shifting tides. It also looks into human activity and the consequences that new changes could bring to traditional lifestyle.
The second analysis looks into local activity and the role of humans in the area. From an analytical point of view, we specify the impact of each activity and its productio based on a range of external factors ranging from external demand to climate conditions.

Surat Thani research: First analysis. Laura Amoretti and Alba Sánchez
As decided in our group (ETSAM students), the first step to get into the project is to introduce the site at three different scales.
The following is the first one. A wide scale which shows the relationship water/ground through the shore line in Surat Thani province and the main "amphibious" activities at Ban Don Bay.
The second one (by Ana Olalquiaga and Alejandro Domínguez) is a more detailed explanation of how people live and work at the bay.
The third and last one (Federica Delsanto and Ane Ferreiro) gets into detail and shows four different in-water-construction methods that can be seen in the area.
