With the coastline of 100km, Bandon bay is considered to be
one of the largest bay within the gulf of Thailand. The bay is dominated by
more than 9 estuaries, Tapi and Phumduang estuary are the most dominant. With
its site character being relatively shallow, Bandon bay is very dynamic with
the flows of water and high rate of sedimentation, and a very diverse ecosystem
of wild species.
This blog documents a parallel design studio between ETSA, Madrid and INDA, Bangkok, during the academic year of 2015-16.
The topic of this collaboration is Amphibious Architecture - a research in the context of wetlands situated in both countries.
In the first semester, the projects was situated in Spain, and in the second semester, the site is in Thailand.
